Un-wind

Well I stole a couple of minutes of painting time.  Not sure when I can do it again but it was niceto relax and unwind.

Pink

Well tonight was the last night at Mick's (the new Kilt and Fiddle).  I feel like I got some decent work done.  I believe through this opportunity there were many small steps forward in regards to my portraiture and technique.  In that regard, this moment I feel good and proud of my accomplishments.  So, now its back to the work of getting ready for placement, here is hoping for the best.

Blueness

Well today was a small step forward for me.  I've finally gotten over my fear of covering the whole canvas.  We still have a ways to go but, at-least she is starting to take shape.

Subtle

Well I'm finally done my ape piece. She's not perfect but I'm happy with her progress and some of the subtle undertones I've been working on really create a softer impression.  Now I can start some work on designing some work I intend to work on at the Kilt and Fiddle.  I'm thinking a nice rock band always a crowd pleaser.      

The Kilt & Fiddle

Well the owners of The Kilt and Fiddle have asked me to paint in their establishment again, I'm excited haven't gotten much chance of it of it in the past couple of weeks, it will be nice to get back to it.

If anyone feels like coming down for a drink, you know I'll always up for it, company is always a good thing.

The dates will be, the 23rd 24th and the 25th, from about 11:00am - 7:30pm, hope to see you down there.  :)

Legal

Because of legal reasons I've had to call back my pieces at ivy.  It's just not in my best intrests right now to make that move.  I wish everyone luck, I hope they do well, its a great idea that people should get involved in if they can, I hope you all will support them in getting off the ground.

Ivy Handmade Industries

Well a couple of friends are opening up a handmaid store in tecumseh mall, I have decided to join them in as a part of there venture,  I'll be exhibiting 8 large pieces.  Hopefully it does well, but because of an increase in commissions to the store, I've had to raise my prices.  So we will have to see if everything comes out in the wash, here is hoping.

Reading week

Well again no new work yet, but with reading week almost here for us college students, I'm going to give myself a day to paint, can't go to crazy with exams looming but a little rest never hurt anyone.

No sure what but thats part of the surprise I guess.  So here are some old pieces till then.

Well right now I have no time free but I though you guys might enjoy one of my favourite old pieces.  I hope to do a little once mid terms are done but they will always be something so wish my luck and enjoy the old works.

Giraffe and Zebra

Well I think today worked out I polished off my two pieces.  Over all we are happy.  Now its back to doing some school work (Setting up for next semester soo much reading) and enjoying a well deserved rest, of family and festivities.

Well I finished up the work on the elephant.  There is always more to do but I think I'm happy enough with her.

Poem

Well I was asked to write a poem about one of my pieces.  

I'm not much of a lyricist but here is how it went.

Melancholy Moments 

Expressive wonder and all that that implies.

A painting is moment in time, 

something we want to capture, but gone the next. 

We try to name it put our words to it,

but through it we only find that our words are insufficient. 

Its only in our imagination are we free to dream.

So that even in the melancholy moments

 we can find our hope.

So thats what this piece means to me.

I hope you keep on dreaming and,

letting the sad in with the happy, 

because it is only then that we can enjoy those moments

Shelved

Well looks like this painting will have to be shelved.  I have new work from a family member or potentially new family member.  Thats going to change up the order of importance.

Milk

Well Just finished hanging the Milk show.  Its only four pieces but with the wide range of other artists I think its worth checking out.

Massaging once again

Well I massaged Cher and joss stone a little bit.  Part of being an artist is that there is always better out there its just if you have the skill to do it.

Massage

Just got back from Mick's.  Let just say subtly is not my strong suit, but I'm starting to see some value in it.  I just have to massage my technique.  Here are some of the pieces I started to massage.  Cher's colour is completely off but its on it way.  

Mick's Irish Pub

Fringe festival is almost upon us.  So I have talked with the owners of Mick's Irish Pub, and they have kindly allowed me to paint at there establishment.  So from thursday the 26th -  sunday the 29th.  I'm going to be on stage an painting on site.  If anyone feels like joining me hopefully we'll sit have a pint and enjoy the summer month while its still here.  :)

Ape Depth.

Well I've been working on giving one my paintings a little more depth.  Adding a more sculptural element to them.  Overall I'm really happy with the results but I have to wait on experimenting some of my favourite pieces.  

Well I'm finally done my 1984 piece.  She is not perfect but I'm proud of her and I don't say that very often.  I hope you guys enjoy.

The turtle

Well I finally sold my mammoth turtle. I'll miss her but I'm proud that she is out there where she can be enjoyed by other people, besides just by me.

Well were finally up at milk. She took a while but I'm happy with the results. I hope many of you come down to see it. before the painting you want are sold. Good luck.

Peacock Done?

Well I've given her plenty of time. I think I can step away from her. Let hope she is well received.

Peacock and family portrait

Well I've been woking at Mick's on the peacock. And spending some time at home on the family portrait. I think I learned a couple things from my commission works I felt I needed to put into practice. So I think were where we need to be on the family thing but the peacock is still giving me troubles. But I'm sure I get her into shape its just a question of time.

Well today was the final touches to the other portrait commission. Now its all down to smashing out the peacock. Its always a chalange to re-do a piece but I'm confident that she will work out to everyone satisfaction.

Well I finished up one of my commissions I'm pretty happy with her. On to the next.

Time keeps on ticking

Well I have done a little more work on Marley, Hendrix is pretty much done, and lauren hill is decent. Over all a good day.

Beatles sketch

Well I've been working on getting two sketches ready for my phog show. I'm reasonably happy, I think they will round out the 6 music paintings I have been working on. It goes up tomorrow I hope everyone enjoys.
